< back > english Led by the prestigious conductor Cristian Mandeal, the Romanian Youth Orchestra is more than just an orchestra. It assembles the brightest young musicians from Romania for a unique creative experience, in the common pursuit of musical excellence. The youngest symphonic orchestra in Romania was founded inn2008 by the Romanian cellist and professor Marin Cazacu who embraced the task of gathering together young musicians, aged between 19 and 26 years and selected nationwide as he wanted to create the proper creative environment to help the young artists in developing to the highest European artistic standards. From the beginning, Cristian Mandeal assured the technical and artistic directing of the Romanian Youth Orchestra helping the young musicians not only to forge their talents, but also to inspire and delight the audience with every performance while doing so. The musicians which, united by their passion for music embarked on such a brave and promising project, have proven throughout their concerts at the Romanian Atheneum and at the extraordinary concert „Eurovision – Young Musicians“ that they can easily approach a large variety of programs, always being well received by the audience and the press. For the 2011 edition of the George Enescu International Festival, the Romanian Youth Orchestra has been invited to accompany star violinist David Garrett in a unique concert, proving once again the high quality and the high artistic standards of this young orchestra. |
