EFNYO General Assembly in Paris, April 21 - 24, 2016
The EFNYO General Assembly took place between April 21st – 24th, 2016, in Paris, France. The GA was hosted by our French member, the Orchestre Français des Jeunes (OFJ), and its Director, Pierre Barrois. Thirty delegates coming from 15 different countries exchanged on a variety of aspects for developing EFNYO’s MusXchange programme beyond 2017. This included discussions on new strategies and formats involving new partners within and outside the EFNYO such as festivals, professional orchestras, orchestra networks and business partners.
The full members' meeting focused on internal business such as conference reports, incoming correspondence, finance, membership and networking issues.
Presentations and round table discussions included guest speakers of the Association Française des Orchestres (AFO), the Philharmonie de Paris and professional orchestras from France (Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre de Picardie). Philippe Fanjas, director of the AFO, presented a highly relevant audience research led among French orchestras. Further presentations of guests concentrated on programming for new venues, and educational programmes.
