EFNYO General Assembly in Fiesole, May 11 - 14, 2017

EFNYO's annual General Assembly was held in Fiesole/Florence between May 11th - 14th, 2017. The four-day event was kindly hosted by our Italian member, the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana (OGI) at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole.

We welcomed guest speakers Eric Booth, who gave a keynote presentation on the "Teaching artist", and Mark Gillespie, who spoke about the "Global Leaders Program" of the Youth Orchestra of the Americas. A second focus of the conference was the presentation of the outcomes of EFNYO's cooperation project MusXchange 2015-17 (running from April 1, 2015 - March 31st, 2017).

Furthermore, we were delighted to welcome our local guest speakers Riccardo Basile, Communications Director for the Orchestra della Toscana who spoke about “Communication in the world of classical music, programme and audience development”, as well as Pierangelo Conte, Artistic Coordinator of the Opera di Firenze - Maggio Musicale, who gave a speech on “Building and maintaining an audience base, programming and cross over projects”.
